Who is Amit?

There was class near the coast and there was a huge flood. Then an old lady was crossing the road but there was lots of traffic and there was a strong wind so she couldn’t see. Then a boy named Amit saved the old lady’s life by helping her cross the street.

Amit risked his own life to help others and care is shown in this action. Amit believed that if you can help someone you should do so. So he is a very caring and very brave and this is shown from his action of helping the old lady.

Stephen Curry is an amazing shooter!

These are my goals for Term 1.

Can you complete my pattern?

WALHT: Find and continue a pattern recording results as a table.

Using the information in the model above, I analysed the pattern and put that information into the table below.
Factory Number

Rule for grey squares: Add 2.
Rule for red squares: Add 6.
Rule for all squares: Add 8.
Using the information from the table, I was able to respond to the questions below.

  1. How many grey squares do we need for the eighth factory?
16.
  1. How many grey squares will we need for the hundredth factory?
200.
  1. What is the number pattern for the grey squares?
Add 2 or multiply 2.
  1. How many red squares do we need for the ninth factory?
57.
  1. If there are 14 grey squares how many red squares are there?
45.
  1. What is the number pattern for the red squares?
Add 6.
  1. How do we get the number of red squares for one factory from the number of red squares in the factory before that?
3 red squares.
  1. If we have to use exactly 36 red squares in making a factory, how many grey squares would we need?
11 grey squares.
  1. How many squares do we need altogether for the seventh factory?
69 squares.
  1. What is the number pattern that we are getting for the total number of squares?
Add 8.
  1. If we had 35 tiles, which numbered factory could we make?
4 factories.
  1. Which of these numbers are not a number of squares for one of these factories: 20, 21,22, 23?
All of them.

Finally, I entered and then selected the data from the spreadsheet below to create the graph.

This graph shows the number pattern I am adding to the vertical axis and how many numbers I am adding in a pattern for the horizontal axis.

Help George!

George is a small courageous Jack-Russell dog who put himself at risk to protect 5 children that was attacked by a pack of pit-bull dogs, George ran to the 2 pit bull terriers to give the children time to escape and his belief in helping people and caring for others made him do so. His skill of athleticism gave him enough courage to help the children. His courage was shown by the way he sacrificed himself to protect the children even if he had to kill himself to protect others. His brave actions was awarded by 3 medals of honour and was given to his owner and now a statue of George is in the middle of Manaia in New Zealand.
