Today at Technicraft we did an experiment involving the reflection and colours of the bubbles before they finally dehydrate and evaporate. This is how you do it…!
Ingredients and tools:
- Plastic Container
- Straw
- A flat surface (table)
- Glycerine
- Detergent
- Water
Method (You need sunshine on the table):
- Make a solution consisting of glycerine, detergent and water.
- Pour that solution into the plastic container.
- Use your hand and dip it into the solution and wipe it onto your table.
- Start blowing bubbles one at a time and observe the pattern of colours that appear.
Explanation:
When the bubble is blown the bubble starts showing a series of colours in this colour pattern red, blue, light blue/green, violet, yellow and clear transparent before it finally dehydrates and evaporates. This colour sequence indicates the approximated time the bubble is going to dehydrate and evaporate.
